About the Founder
Paul “PZ” Zimmerman is a lifelong entrepreneur, creative thinker, and nature enthusiast who has called Wolfeboro home for over 40 years. Born in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, on a family farm dating back to a William Penn land grant, PZ’s deep-rooted connection to the land shaped his belief in building lasting, meaningful spaces.
After a successful career in real estate development — first in New Jersey, then in New Hampshire — PZ gradually shifted his focus from business to giving back. A supporter of the arts, music, and community causes, he is now semi-retired and dedicated to projects that uplift the places and people he loves. His guiding philosophy comes from his late mother, who always said, “Follow the birds, bees, and butterflies.”

How PZ Park
Came to Be
The lot that will become PZ Park sits in the heart of downtown Wolfeboro. Years ago, a local bank proposed building on the site, but when those plans fell through, the space remained unused. Seeing its potential, PZ took action: he cleared the land, planted grass, and invited neighbors to enjoy it.
What followed was unexpected — and inspiring. Croquet matches began to pop up on summer afternoons, neighbors paused their walks to watch, and the once-empty lot became a quiet stage for community connection. People gathered not just to play but to simply be — among the birds, bees, and butterflies.

Out of that spontaneous joy, the vision for a lasting public park emerged. Not just a lawn, but a space filled with pollinator gardens, native plantings, and features that invite both reflection and celebration. At the center of it all will be a custom-built gazebo, designed to host concerts, talks, and shared moments under the sky — a nod to both the past gatherings and the park’s vibrant future.
PZ Park is his living legacy — a gift to the town he calls home, rooted in joy, biodiversity, and belonging.
